    The place is super cute, beautiful velvet couch, green plants on the wall and very welcoming staff. I came in to get festival braids. Alexis did an amazing job!! She even offered cute little Jewels for my braid. As I was leaving they gave me a ā€œfestival survival kitā€ with a hair brush, make up wipe, hair clips and even lashes. Literally sooo thoughtful šŸ„°

    I canā€™t say enough good things about my experience at Velvet Edge Salon! Anna, my stylist, was absolutely amazing. I desperately needed a haircut and was feeling totally out of my element. I donā€™t color my hair and, honestly, I donā€™t even get it cut every six months like I should.     I recently moved to Florida and was on the hunt for a salon. By far, going to Velvet Edge Salon after finding them on Insta was THE BEST DECISION! From the moment I walked in, the experience was AMAZING. The owner, Angela greeted me and let me know that Ash, my hairs new BFF would be with me in a moment. The service and VIP treatment received (from complimentary wine/water to hot towel on face while enjoying hair mask treatment) have made me a true follower. Be sure you will be seeing me again!

    Got my first curly cut ever from Ash - it was the loveliest experience Ive EVER had at a haircut. She is super knowledgeable and gave me a great cut/style that made my waves/curls show up well. Great listener, asked a lot of questions about what I wanted and I felt very comfortable talking to her. She gave me advice about products without being pushy or trying to sell me anything. But most of all, she is the sweetest person - she was so vocally appreciative of my hair type, made me feel super good about it and overall made the whole thing such a pleasant experience!!The salon itself is super clean, very cute and welcoming.     Not sure where to start! My whole experience from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. I saw Ash for my first curly cut, and they helped me embrace my natural curls, and educate me on the steps in my routine that can be edited to give me the results Iā€™m looking for. They took the time to understand me and listen to what my goals with my hair are, then executed it flawlessly. Their energy is amazing, contagious and the vibes inside the salon alone are immaculate. EVERYONE is so friendly, chill and I shanā€™t be going anywhere else after stopping in. Super clean, super cute and even cater to a more masculine audience as well. Thank yā€™all so much!

    Iā€™m not being dramatic when I say this was the best salon experience Iā€™ve ever had in my life. I couldnā€™t have asked for a better stylist than Ash.     I love this salon! Angela is amazing and very skilled. She did my color, cut and 22 inch extensions. Ive never loved my hair so much :) i also took my daughter to get the blonde Gulf glow package and her hair turned out fantastic! Angela did her hair too. The salon is very nice. Love the decor and they have stylists as well as barbers. Just a good vibe all around. Highly recommend!

    Went there to get a curly hair reset with Ash, and Im super freaking happy with the results! Ash was really fun and personable, she walked me through what my hair needs personally. She gave me advice while washing and shampooing what the best routine would be.She also wanted to make everything as attainable as possible at home, so she walked me through her styling process on how to attain those curls on my own at home.The rest of the staff was super friendly and its a beautiful salon! Definitely going back!

    I got the full curly care package. Iā€™m in the process of growing out my hair from a buzz cut, so while there wasnā€™t a lot to shape, Ash did an amazing job getting me to where I want to go. I finally didnā€™t have the sad microphone hair that I walked in with. The atmosphere was awesome, and I would definitely recommend.

She put festival braids in my hair with a stunning color scheme and glitter that has drawn compliments from all agesā€”even event staff at a Molly Hatchet concert asked to take a picture! The braids have lasted over a week so far through work, running, and gym sessions. Alexis is such a delight to talk to, and Iā€™ll definitely be back in January before my cruise!

    Amazing salon. I got a curly hair special with Ash and she was one of the best hair stylists Ive ever had. Finding curly hair stylists is very difficult, but Ash worked with my natural curl shape, fixed my own attempt at cutting my hair, and gave me a very easy to manage cut that looks even better as day 2 hair. The service was quick and efficient, but I got everything- a great cut, a good hair treatment, lots of good advice, and an overall enjoyable experience.

    Angela is a very talented stylist. I went in for a lived in blonde and a flattering cut that will grow out well and she delivered!     I love velvet edge! I first went to Alexis for a haircut and had a great experience, it was fast and loved my haircut, knew exactly what I wanted, shower pictured, and she was able to deliver. I even went back to Alexis and got a Brazilian blowout, had a wonderful experience, educated me on what the process was and what to expect since I had never done one before and the aftercare for it. Everyone is very nice in the salon and the salon itself has a great vibe, would recommend.

    I absolutely love this salon! The owners are so nice & welcoming. My stylist Ash is incredible at what she does, I have thick and curly hair and have always struggled with finding the right hair dresser but she has me feeling amazing and confident everytime I leave. Iā€™ve also gotten braids done from Alexis and they came out perfect and exactly what I wanted. I couldnā€™t recommend this salon enough, plus their recent renovations created a beautiful and vibey salonā¤ļø

    Had a wonderful time getting my hair done by Angie. No wait and offered refreshing beverages from the get go. She took the time to achieve the stunning copper I was going for and exceptionally styled it. Notable mention: the salon wash chairs are the most comfortable chair Ive ever had my hair washed in. Typically the bowls cut into my neck and make it an uncomfortable and straining experience. But these bowls are crafted with a neck/head rest and I could literally sit there for hours.Ill be coming to velvet edge from here on out šŸ’ššŸ’ššŸ’š

    I came across Velvet Edge through a pop up advertisement on Facebook and Intagram. I am so incredibly happy I did. I got the blonding package and had Angela as my stylist. She was so kind and thoughtful and did such an amazing job. She listen to what I wanted and took her time. This has been the best experience and salon Iā€™ve been to. I would highly recommend going to Velvet Edge, you will not be disappointed. I will continue to go here for all my hair needs and look forward to it.

    Had a haircut appointment with Ash. She was super easy to talk to and I felt comfortable as soon as she said hello!There were a couple reference photos I had saved for my cut but none of them were really what I wanted so I had to explain it (which was surprisingly difficult). Ash took the time to help search for photos and get one as close as we could to what I wanted. From there she talked me through everything she did and made sure to go slow so I could be sure it was going how I wanted (I have multiple curly textures in my hair so Im always nervous letting new people cut it but this extra step from her really helped me relax and trust her). She was careful around my tender ear piercing and throughout the cut she let me put my glasses on to check out the process.I ended up with my beautiful choppy-layered-mullet-pixie-minicurtainbang combo exactly how I pictured it! I love it so much and I couldnt have asked for a better hair artist :D

    I.. I... I havent the words to fully express how pleased I am with the service at Velvet Edge. From the ease of appointment booking to the services rendered to the delightful interactions with the staff and stylists. I was blown away. I particularly recommend Albie for styling short cuts for full, curly hair. If you have style and standards you have to go where the art is arting, where the creatives are creating, where the style is styling. You cannot afford to go anywhere else.

    When I say I am obsessed with the NEW Brazilian Hair Treatment I received I am not kidding! Angie is the Most talented & thoughtful hair dresser who literally dominates & makes my hair do what I want! The treatment was effective as I do have pesky baby hairs that always cause me stress & literally cut my blow out time in half typically takes about an hour to 30 mins tops! Definitely will do this AGAIN!

    I have been to so many barbers and Iā€™m never satisfied because it always feels rushed and they never actually do all the services they say that are included in the price. Matt was a different story. From washing my hair, hot towel on my face and taking his time to give me the perfect fit and didnā€™t take off to much like every other barber does. I canā€™t recommend him enough! He will be my barber from now on no doubt. Also extra points because the space is so welcoming to ALL types of people, great environment and amazing staff with high end skills!

    I went in with a lifeless hair that had no volume or definition and lots of sporadic lengths and dead ends. Ash was so attentive to me and asked lots of questions regarding my hair goals and took her time both listening to me and cutting my hair. She completely transformed my hair and it literally has never looked so lively and healthy. Iā€™ve struggled for years to find someone who will understand my curls and cut my hair based on its needs, which lead to many horrible cuts in the past. I will definitely trust nobody else with my hair but her.

    Yesterday I went to VLVT for my first time. I had a crazy mane in desperate need of rescuing - like dreads were forming!! I hadnā€™t had a haircut for 2 years prior and all the recent beach time has been doing damage. Steve took me under his wing and gave me the best hair cut I have ever received!! A day later and my curls are still bouncy looking super healthy and happy! I am so excited by this haircut, and cannot thank Steve enough!     Vanessa did a wonderful job with my color. She knew exactly what I wanted and really exceeded my expectations with how wonderful it turned out. She is amazing and the blonde color turned out beautiful. Albie also did an amazing job with my haircut. He really takes his time and delivers a very precise cut. He knew exactly what I wanted and I couldnt be happier with the end result. I only wish I would have taken a before and after photo.

    I would highly recommend this salon! My friend told me that she came here and her long layers and color was beautiful so I thought I would give it a try. I was able to be seen for a consultation with Brooke right away and was able to book for the next day. She did my color with a balayage technique. I originally was going to go a red tone and she helped guide me instead choose a warmer brown to match my skin tone. Im so glad I did because I love all the warm colors she did. She has inherent talent for understanding how colors work together. I would highly recommend the salon. Im excited for Brooke to do a cut on me next time.

    I have spent most of my adult life hiding under caps, hats, and uncomfortable hair accessories, until 2 weeks ago when Albie worked his magic on my red, curly hair! I have never been able to get a haircut and not utter the words, it will look better tomorrow, and has potential to look acceptable in a month, until now! Such a wonderful person, incredible salon.....the entire experience was wonderful, and I did not have to wear a cumbersome, plastic, snap-on adult-sized bib!

    I have never gotten such a great haircut as Albie gives me! My last cut was February 21, 2020. We have been on lockdown. Its now April 29th and my hair still looks good when I blow it dry! Which I dont bother with often these days, since we dont leave the house. Also got great color there as well. My hair is red. It has faded as Ive aged. But the color used at VLVT looks natural! Highly recommend VLVT.

    Having lost our former stylist to a job change, we visited another salon in St. Petersburg with a photograph of the exact haircut my husband wanted. We knew it would work with his hair, and were excited for a change. To our disappointment (putting it mildly) his hair looked NOTHING like the photo - even after going back for a chance to get it right. I called Albie immediately and he cut his hair the RIGHT way.
