Update- visit 2: We went back a few months later to have my daughters curly hair cut (not just styled as in previous review) and Celia worked her curl goddess powers to reveal an absolute beautiful end result. The curls lay so much better, my daughter loves the added volume and soft bang and this mom is just so happy to see my daughter feeling beautiful. Thank you again Celia for your talent, making us feel comfortable and the sweet staff for another all around wonderful experience! (Pictures of haircut are the outdoor shots.)My 11 year old daughter, with curls, caught eye of their “curly hair expert” letters on the window so we made an appointment. Celia transformed my daughters curly hair into a delectable work of defined art, with bouncy spring and luscious softness. Celia was so helpful with curly hair feedback, we left with more than just gorgeous hair, but with real knowledge, (a joyful mom tear), and a happy kiddo who was given confidence in maintaining it. We adore Celia and all the sweet staff there to make our visit relaxed, enjoyable and comfortable. Such a breath of fresh air, we felt truly cared for. Thank you everyone!

I like this salon a lot, support staff or whatever is great. The real draw though is Anna Rose. I’m 50 years old and no hairdresser has ever been able to work with my waves and cowlicks (or even acknowledge there were waves and cowlicks). I have never had an even remotely bad haircut from her and if you’re unsure what you want you can trust her to just do what she thinks will look good (I swear). She is also a beautiful light of a human being and fun to be around. Very welcoming to LGBT clients ❤️

The best salon for curly hair!!I’ve been coming to Practically Frivolous for years now and I am never disappointed! My stylist, Anna Rose is absolutely Wonderful!! I highly recommend her, she is truly knowledgeable about curly hair and always makes me feel at ease in her chair. She takes her time and makes sure that you are happy with the final result, and even teaches/gives you hair tips along the way. 100% recommend :)

Edie has cut and colored my hair twice now, and my curls and color have never looked better! I enjoy walking into a salon and everyone is friendly and treat you like family. I cant wait for my salon/pamper myself day. I start my day with Gail she is the magician of facials. She is the reason I have healthyskin. Then I go to my hair stylist, Celia, she has a mean set of shears and make me look like a supermodel. After, that I slide over to my nail artist Cheata and the word artist doesnt describe the talent. Then to round of I see Mom.... when I say OMG...I mean OMG .... I never want to leave the pedi chair... I telling you once enter the salon you walk out feeling refreshed and relaxed.... love my Practically Frivolous Family

I had such a wonderful experience getting my curly hair cut here. I was nervous for this cut going in, but Anna Rose really took the time to listen to me beforehand, and ensured she understood what I was looking for before the cut! She was also very helpful and knowledgable in helping me learn best techniques for keeping my hair healthy! Even a few weeks after the cut, my hair is still looking way healthier than before going in. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a hair cut, especially curly hair!

I have CRAZY thick and curly hair. And the curls are not consistent curls. I’ve been searching for years to find someone who can help me. A friend of mine suggested this salon, and Kenna is a magician! The entire staff is so welcoming and friendly. I felt comfortable the moment I walked through the door, and I couldn’t be happier with my hair! Kenna showed me exactly what to do at home and it is a surprisingly, easy routine. The products are also magical! I’ve had so many compliments on my hair, and I tell them exactly who does it and where I get it done. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment. It took me so long to find a stylist after mine moved to CA! I get my nails and lashes done here by Cheata (I love her)and she recommended Celia who I’ve been going to for a year now. Everyone is so friendly, and professional. I trust them to do whatever they suggest, even when I think I want something else. 😀I typically get blonde highlights throughout my hair (balayage)and have never been disappointed. She always talks to you about what you want and will walk you through how to get there in order to keep your hair healthy. She truly cares and listens. Her cuts and blowouts are amazing as well!

I had been looking all over the St. Petersburg area for a curly cut specialist. Lots of places cited curly hair experience but all of their customer photos showed straight hair cuts or curled updos but not naturally curly cuts. I found Practically Frivolous and had a deep condition and a cut with Anna. She was fantastic. She knew exactly what my hair needed, how much needed to come off the ends to get rid of the dead ends but keep maximum length. I booked another appointment 4 months out on the spot. My hair has never looked healthier. Anna really listened to what I wanted, what my lifestyle was and left my hair looking amazing. I highly recommend Anna for caring for your natural curls.

I’ve been going to this salon now for over 3 years... my daughter also.I had Kenna first and now I’ve been constantly going to Eddy. 2020 was hard on all of us and I walked in there looking like Ronald McDonald.. red damaged hair. Put my hair on the hands of Eddy and I came out looking fabulous w my own natural color. She also gave me a cut. She really brought me to life. Also super clean. They’re all Covid certify for our safety. The atmosphere is fun. Definitely will be going there until I move or they retire.

First timer. From the moment I walked in I got really good vibes. The decor was my favorite color(purple), a sweet puppy was giving me love, and when I met my stylist we were even dressed similarly. My stylist, Kenna, was warm and friendly and pampered me for my birthday haircut :) I made a drastic change cutting off almost 10 inches of hair. Kenna did an amazing job with my hair and was an absolute gem of a person. I love my new hair and will be coming back in the future thats for sure!

Anytime I’ve let someone cut it before they don’t understand my curl pattern and I leave in tears because once it’s dry it’s always way too short or nothing like what I asked for. Ive also had my hair cut, styled, colored, and Brazilian blowouts. They also offer massages. Absolutely overwhelmed with the service received for my daughter. She is 5 years old with thick curly hair that is challenging to manage. Cici exceeded my expectations with her services. Cici washed, conditioned, cut and styled my daughters hair so amazingly. She educated me with products that are suitable for her hair texture and made my daughter so comfortable. The process is long but Cici made the appointment wonderful. I could go on and on but I will keep it short with the important details. Love, love, love this salon and Cici is amazing.
