Called for an appointment and was assigned Ms Evette. The atmosphere was calming and relaxing. The parking was great, everyone was polite and helpful. The Northside is representing. Ms E did an excellent job. She quietly did the work and at the end I was looking good and very happy. I was also able to sleep normally not pretty to try and keep my do. I will be back and Im spreading the word about this place. The instructors are very nice and soft spoken. Check it out ladies.

My service was a silk press. My stylist was Lanae. I absolutely love my hair. The environment was welcoming and attentive. The space was clean and organized. Instructors were present on the floor or near by just in case students had questions. Overall my visit was great! I’ll be back.

Katina was amazing with the shampooing! I call it Magic Hands. Lux did an amazing job silk pressing my hair. Its natural and for her to straighten my edges without heat burn, is impressive 😍. She knows her stuff. Wish I knew how to post a video of how bouncy it is. I believe the trainer was awesome 👌🏾 👏🏾 👍🏾 but I didnt get her name. Appreciate you all for helping me. Especially in an emergency time! 🙏🏾 ❤️ 💯

Went there to give the kids in our workforce development program job shadowing experience for those who are interested in a career in beauty. The staff was very informative and professional, also they were very down to earth and relatable to the teams. Mrs. Tonia Bell is a great leader with a loving and giving heart. she also made sure our youth got all the information, hands on experience, and love they could get. Though the stylists there were still learning, they all seemed as if they were on a professional level and had been working for years. I would highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to learn the trade, or anyone looking for these types of services!

Friendly staff, friendly teachers, clean and organized, and the students were all attentive and engaged. Went as a speaker and did a hair cut demo for the students. My experience at total beauty Institute was amazing! I flew in for a wedding and due to my schedule. I was not able to get my hair done before leaving my hometown. I was stressed because I needed my hair done for this wedding within 48 hours, someone recommended, total beauty Institute. They were able to take me in at the last minute. My styles, took very good care of me. She let me know that it was time for my trim so she took care of that and gave me a great wash. And besides accommodated me at the last minute , she also did a great job on my hair. I must say, it was better than the picture that was shown as an example of what I needed done!🤗. Thank you total beauty Institute. Your staff is amazing. I will not hesitate to come back next time I’m at Jacksonville.

I am delightfully impressed with my color retouch, deep conditioning treatment and styling services I received today! My hair is looking the healthiest Ive seen since my twenties! Jessica was my stylist. She is super fun and bubbly. Is very enthusiastic and loves to learn. The instructor, Samantha, is super hands-on and really took Jessica to a different level today. They were so sweet to me and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If only everyone knew about the hidden gems of hair school. 😏

It was a wonderful experience and Im very pleased with my services. Evette provided Stellar service from start to finish. Her ability to follow instructions so well, lets me know she is going to make an amazing leader one day. Evette really is an asset to the TBI family and demonstrated excellent customer service skills. TBI provides such a family friendly atmosphere and a welcoming environment for everyone to learn. As a customer tip: please remember to pack your patience when you come because this is a learning environment, so additional time will be necessary. Meaning she was always on her feet interacting, not once did I see her sit down.I observed her interaction with her students as well ascustomers/clients her around the clock attentiveness was continuous. She checked in with her students & they continuously checked back in with her.Ex. Student: “Tonia the hair is extremely mated, how should I remove this immense dandruff?” She responded with assertion & provided descriptive instructions.Ms. Tonia B. is very hands-on with her students she redirected them when necessary and/or for clarity. I heard her tell one student remember “the three R’s,” as the students client waited to be serviced by the front desk. The statement was illuminating while impactful I thought it was imperative for good quality customer service & it will definitely keep us, the client returning for more services.I bet you’re wondering what are the “3 R’s.” Sorry, I will not disclose them because I feel it is a violation of some what. Ms. Tonia B. may only provide this tip in class and/or during a teachable moment.Her staff & her students are amazing. The energy & atmosphere is a reflection of Ms. Tonia B.’s energy it was such a pleasure being in such a positive environment.I strongly believe, this group of future beautician’s are quite lucky to have such an amazing instructor.Ms. Tonia B. is a true professional, her radiation of positivity, awareness & self-confidence seamlessly shines throughout the institution and/or salon, her vibration draws an individual near.Anyone can tell & see that it is her passion & she truly enjoys her profession. I transferred in from another school, graduated and got my cosmetology license i learned a lot that I would not have at a larger institution. The class size was small enough to get one on one support when and if needed.Junior and senior students worked together with oversight from various staff and shared insights and knowledge to help each other grow in and out of school. All while building friendship and networking throughout the industry. I met amazing people while I was a student and am thankful for everyone I have met while at school.

Total Beauty Institute is a jewel in our community. The location is ideal and the people are so nice and professional. The student that did my hair was just awesome. She got skills. The owner(Tonie) is a beautiful soul. She is on that floor going from student to student instructing in a caring and professional way and she is a pro in her field.. I needed a T trim and Tonie told me what is was and that it would help my hair well over a year ago. I did not get it, but I discovered that is exactly what my hair needed and I am so thankful for her expertise. I got the T trim and my up do turned out so nice today. The experience was wonderful. I will be back.

I arrived in Jacksonville from up north with waist length very straight, extremely thick hair and wanted to get my hair cut and thinned at the start of a 2 week vacation. The salon itself was clean and spacious. After assigning me to a student the director personally supervised the work being done and it was a lot ! Between them they cut over 10” and what felt like pounds (not exaggerating) of hair, thinned and nicely layered. I was grateful as dealing with all that hair would have been a pain -especially on vacation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of salon services !Please tip well as the prices are incredibly low !

I absolutely love Total Beauty Institute and as a former student now graduate of 2022, it has open many doors for me and continue to do so! As a student that had experienced other schools, I couldn’t have asked the Lord for anything more than for him to lead me to Total beauty after 4 years of prior cosmetology education. If anyone knows as a parent, wife/head of household, not including unforeseen circumstances life throws at you, it’s nothing like haveing a goal and following through, but once you arrive feeling uncertain. Well I’ve been there, but the almighty had other plans, I had no choice but to follow through with the mission. He brought me all the way from another state 14,000 miles and place me on the door step of Total beauty Institute. I love our clients, ALL ages and there’s new clients coming everyday. I have learned an overflow of knowledge on hair loss, maintaining healthy hair, product production, how to structure yourself as a professional once out in the field, the list goes on! There’s no instructor/ leader/director teaching cosmetology that I’d rather be under influence of! God Bless.
