I cannot say enough good things about Riverchase Dermatology. Every single person I have dealt with have been professional, pleasant, and polite. For example, I had to make an appointment for a procedure, and Joann, the lady scheduling it, went out of her way to get one that worked with my schedule. She even called me the next day leaving a message that she was holding one for me. Dr. Patterson came in, introduced himself, and explained the procedure in detail. His assistant, Maria, was also friendly and professional, explaining her part every step of the way. Dr. Patterson continued to talk and joke during the procedure, keeping my mind off the surgery. I loved it. It certainly put my mind at ease. Even the guy at the front desk who scheduled my follow up appt. was super nice. Why can’t all healthcare offices be like this one?

Though I had to wait over a month for a new patient appointment, I am extremely glad I waited! I rarely write reviews for medical providers as my visits often end with frustration and disgust due to lack of follow up on their part and often times I experience laziness from staff, but not this time… The office waiting room was clean and comfortable. I was acknowledged by reception immediately after the patient before me was checked in. The check in process was one minute tops - probably b/c I completed the new patient info on the app vs dealing with stacks of forms or handed a tablet upon my arrival. That was a huge time saver. I WAS TAKEN INTO THE BACK OFFICE FOR MY APPOINTMENT WITHIN MINUTES AND ON TIME!!! This is huge. It is refreshing to visit a provider that actually respects MY time! After a brief encounter with the MA, Ms. Maria came into the exam room shortly after. The wait was only a couple minutes. Another huge bonus. Maria introduced herself and addressed my (3) concerns, which shocked me as I expected to be told I needed separate appointments for each issue. Maria was very professional, thorough, polite, and efficient. Clearly she understands the value of sticking to a schedule. Patient education was discussed in layman’s terms but not in a condescending manner. The MA was also very professional and definitely on the ball, which seems to me would not be an easy feat with a no-nonsense provider. My visit was the best experience with a provider in the 4 years I’ve lived in SW FL, and there has been quite a few different specialist visits during this time. More providers should follow this business model. This practice has a great team and I hope to see the same faces and have the same great experiences when I follow up in 3 months. I definitely recommend Riverchase Dermatology!

My nurse was also great. Very friendly and warm. Made me feel quite comfortable. Both ladies were knowledgeable and took time to chat and explain everything. Had to re-do a biopsy that an outside lab couldn’t do properly(not the fault of Riverchase!); hopefully the next lab will do better..But the entire crew at Riverside, from the front desk, to the nurse assistants, and especially the doctor; knocked it out of the park again. I can’t say enough of the staff; nowhere have I encountered such sincere care given to me at a doctor’s office. And this was only my second visit.Do not hesitate to chose this office if you’re lucky enough to have an insurance that covers them….

The second visit was a follow up where she reviewed the biopsy results and counseled me on how to manage the condition. I asked about two other things during that visit and she answered all my questions and switched medications for one condition we were discussing. The third question was cosmetic and she explained clearly what could be done. What really impressed me was she did not push a particular treatment or procedure. She just answered my questions.
